Lisbon’s biggest new musical export arrive in London this month taking time out from putting the finishing touches on their highly anticipated debut album, tentatively titled Black Diamond

The wild beats of Angolan Kuduro music have been big in Lisbon clubs since the late 90s and now Buraka Som Sistema - AKA Lil' John, Riot and Conductor – have fused it with 21st century electronics to create their own grimey electro ghettotech take on their favourite South West African music. Buraka Som Sistema’s lyrics also have a distinctly political edge, referencing the inescapable corruption that goes hand in hand with the presence of diamonds and oil.

Buraka Som Sistema have also put together a new music video for their track “Sound of Kuduro,” which documents of their time in Angola.
