Don't miss! Rizla Invisible Players at Rockness Festival!

Following a storming year in 2007, Rizla Invisible Players are back on the road, kicking off with their first party at Rockness, by the shores of Loch Ness. This year’s group of four creative icons (Greg Wilson, Annie Nightingale, Justin Robertson, Kid Acne) will be joined at Rockness by a swathe of top quality talent.

The bill features original greats of modern clubbing including Graeme Park (Hacienda, Submission), Greg Wilson (Wigan Pier, Legends, Hacienda), Justin Robertson (Lionrock, Spice, Most Excellent) and Maurice Fulton (Syclops).

The confirmed line-up for the Rizla Arena is as follows:

Saturday 7 June
12 – 2am Maurice Fulton
8 -12pm Greg Wilson
6 - 8pm Billy Woods (Supermax Glasgow)
4.30 - 6pm Annie Nightingale
2 - 4.30pm Kid Acne
11 - 2pm Heavenly Jukebox

Sunday 8 June
11 - 1am Graeme Park
9 - 11pm Justin Robertson
7 - 9pm Harri (Sub Club)
5 - 7pm Greg Wilson
2 - 5pm Autodisco DJs (dicky trisco + iamelectron)
11 - 2pm Heavenly Jukebox

Greg Wilson was one of the 2007 Invisible Players, sparking a near riot when he hit the Rizla Arena last year. Greg was original dance resident at the Hacienda, and represents a cornerstone of modern day clubbing. His unique electrofunk sets, filled with rare edits and samples blaring from a 20 year-old reel-to-reel deck, make Greg a must-see.

Kid Acne is a prolific urban ‘decorator’ and home-grown hip hop artist with a long list of artistic credits including his own comic book, ‘Zebra Face’. Watch out for his unique style of art at the Rizla Arena, where he may be caught can in hand.

Justin Robertson is a true modernist. Creator of bespoke techno; remixer for the likes of Bjork, Radio 4 and Felix Da Housecat and an internationally recognised DJ, Justin can be spotted with one of his many hats attempting to lift the roof off the van.

Annie Nightingale was the first female DJ on Radio 1, and has won an MBE for her sterling contribution to British music. An international DJ and documentary maker, dubbed ‘Queen of Breaks’ by the adoring music media, she promises to get the Rizla musical van rocking this summer.

Playing from a unique musical van, a recreation of the original Rizla touring van of the 1920’s, The Invisible Players will play spontaneous and inspiring sets from a diverse record collection. There are no prepared set lists, just pure improvisation and the creation of a unique vibe in the Rizla Arena. The sound could vary from Dub, Electrofunk, Balearic, Hip Hop, Breakbeat to Northern Soul and Acid House.
